Using network connections more efficiently
Each HiPath BizIP telephone has an integrated mini-switch. This means
that you can connect another network device (e.g. a PC) directly to the
LAN via any of your BizIP 410 telephones.
With this type of connection you save one of the network connections of
the switch used and with a suitable configuration you need fewer network
cables and use shorter cable paths.

To connect the BizIP 410 telephone with a PC you only need a con-
ventional network cable (not a crossover cable), as port 2 of the
BizIP 410 telephone already supports this crossover function.
It is not possible to operate another BizIP 410 telephone on port 2
of the BizIP 410 telephone.
