Grasp the finger hold on the toner cartridge handle where it is

marked PUSH, and pull the handle out. Rehold the handle and
pull the toner cartridge out of the compartment.
• Place the toner cartridge on a sheet of paper on a level surface.
Grasp the tabs on the drum cartridge handle and gently pull the

cartridge out of the machine.
Remove the new drum cartridge from its packaging.

Insert the drum cartridge into the print compartment, aligning the
5
guides on the cartridge with the runners on the sides of the com-
partment.
Gently pull the paper tab to remove the black sheet of protective
6
paper from the drum cartridge.
• Be careful not the tear the paper or leave any pieces of paper in
the machine
Replace the toner cartridge and reset the drum counter. (Refer to
7
Installing the Toner Cartridge .)
4. Connections
Connecting the Handset

Connect the handset as shown and place it on the handset rest.
• The ends of the handset cord are identical, so they will go into
either socket.
Make sure the handset cord goes into the socket marked with a
handset symbol on the side of the machine!
Use the handset to make ordinary phone calls, or to transmit and
receive faxes manually.
