Radio reception
Preset tuning is not possible.
• Store the correct frequency in the memory.
• The broadcast signal is too weak.
Stations cannot be received.
The sound is hampered by noises.
• Connect the power aerial control lead (blue)
or accessory power supply lead (red) to the
power supply lead of the car's aerial booster.
(Only when your car has a built-in FM/MW/
LW aerial on the rear/side glass.)
• Check the connection of the car aerial.
• The auto aerial will not go up.
t Check the connection of the power aerial
control lead.
• Check the frequency.
• When DSO mode is "On," the sound is
sometimes hampered by noises.
t Set DSO mode to "Off" (page 51).
Automatic tuning is not possible.
• The Local mode is set to "On."
t Set the Local mode to "Off" (page 26).
• The broadcast signal is too weak.
t Perform manual tuning.
FM reception is poor.
• Tune in the frequency accurately.
• The broadcast signal is too weak.
t Set to the monaural mode (page 26).
A programme broadcast in stereo is heard
in monaural.
The unit is in monaural reception mode.
t Cancel monaural mode (page 26).
RDS
Seek starts after a few seconds of listening.
The station is non-TP or has weak signal.
t Press (F2) (TA) repeatedly until "TA Off"
appears.
No traffic announcements.
• Activate "TA."
• The station does not broadcast any traffic
announcements despite being TP.
t Tune in another station.
PTY displays "None."
• The current station is not an RDS station.
• RDS data has not been received.
• The station does not specify the programme
type. In this case only, "B" is displayed to
the left of "None."
Although you have changed an AF/TA
setting, the AF/TA setting returns to the
previous setting when you change to
another preset station.
If you store a preset station using BTM after
setting AF/TA, the AF/TA setting is stored on
each preset station.
Error displays/Messages
Error messages will flash depending on the status
of the unit. Follow the instructions below if any
of these messages appear in the display.
Messages on CD
CD ERROR
• The CD is dirty.
t Clean the CD.
• The CD cannot play due to some problem.
t Insert another CD.
Messages on HDD
LOW TEMP
Warming Up
The ambient temperature around the HDD is
too low.
t Wait for a while and operate the unit again.
HIGH TEMP
Cooling Down
The ambient temperature around the HDD is
too high.
t Wait for a while and operate the unit again.
CONTENTS ERROR
• The selected content is not of a format this
unit supports.
• The track data cannot be read.
EXPIRED
The track cannot be played back due to the
playback restriction (playback count/period).
DISK ERROR
• The HDD is not recognised.
• An incorrect HDD is installed.
FULL CAPACITY
• No more folders or albums can be created.
t Erase unnecessary folders or albums.
• No more tracks can be recorded.
• The HDD is full.
t Erase unnecessary tracks.
NO FOLDER
There are no folders on the HDD.
t Create a folder before recording (page 39).
CANNOT NAME IN
Name editing was attempted however the
selected folder/album/track cannot be labelled.
INPUT FULL
The number of characters entered at one time
has exceeded the limit during name editing.
NAME FULL
The length of the name entered has exceeded
the limit.
