7.1.9 DSP TROUBLE SHOOTING
Detectable DSP Errors
The following conditions are premised,
A
in order to eliminate causes other than "DSP-assy" and "between DSP-assy and microcomputers".
• Electric power is correctly supplied to DSP-assy.
• The SPDIF signal is coming to the input port of DIR("COAX IN" RX0 & "OPT IN" RX3 & "DVD" RX7).
• There is no audio output from DSP-assy, or audio output is unusual.
• ERR_0 : –Cannot receive data from DIR–
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between DIR(PinNo.32 CDTO)–Level Sifte(IC8702)– µ-com(PinNo.80 DIRDO).
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the µ- com-port(*1) which has sent the signal to IC, and each IC.
B
• ERR_1 : –Cannot receive data from DSP–
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between DSP(PinNo.144 DSDO)–Level Shifteer(IC8702)–µ-com(PinNo.50 DSPDO).
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the µ-com-port(*1) which has sent the signal to IC, and each IC.
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the DIR and DSP.
• ERR_2 : –There is no return value of HREQ.–
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between DSP(PinNo.3 HREQ)–Level Shifteer(IC8702)–µ-com(PinNo.82 DSPHREQ).
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the µ-com-port(*1) which has sent the signal to IC, and each IC.
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the DIR and DSP.
C
• ERR_3 : –ERR information from DSP–
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the µ-com-port(*1) which has sent the signal to IC, and each IC.
(especially the fault inside DSP)
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the DIR and DSP.
• ERR_4 : –DECOMUTE continues being LOW(MUTE).–
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between DSP(PinNo.21 PB12)–Level Shifteer(IC8702)–µ-com(PinNo.86 DECMUTE).
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the É com-port(*1) which has sent the signal to IC, and each IC.
D
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between the DIR and DSP.
Although the followings are not errors, since these are helpful for problem solution, displayed separately.
• ERR_5 : –DIRERR is HIGH(UNLOCK) in digital function.–
If DIRERR continues being HIGH(UNLOCK) without the above-mentioned error display.
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between DIR(PinNo.36 INT0)–Level Sifter(IC8702)–µ-com(PinNo.77 DIRERR).
• ERR_6 : –DSPMUTE is LOW (MUTE).–
If DSPMUTE continues being LOW (MUTE) without the above-mentioned error display.
E
→Communication fault has occurred in somewhere between µ-com(PinNo.86 DSPMUTE)–connector(CN8011andCN8012 No.19MUTEOUT).
Notes :
If the error is fundamental, a priority will become high.
And the error with a high priority is displayed.
Since the µ-com has not received data from CODEC, a CODEC error is undetectable.
However, when the analog audio output of a DSP module is unusual without error information,
we can surmise that CODEC (or its circumference) is out of order.
