Supported switches for the HP Tru64 UNIX host system
This section lists the switches that are supported when you attach a storage unit to
an HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host system.

IBM supports cascaded switches in configurations up to a maximum of 8 switches
with a maximum of 3 interswitch hops for any path. Use two hops for normal
operations with the third hop reserved for backup paths.
Attaching the HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host to a storage unit using
fibre-channel adapters
To attach a storage unit to a Tru64 UNIX operating system, perform the following
tasks:
v Confirm the installation of the operating system
v Confirm the installation of the host adapter
v Set up the storage unit
v Confirm switch connectivity
v Confirm storage connectivity
v Configure storage
v Review tuning recommendations
v Review unsupported utilities
