Installing the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager client and
Setting up the Environment
6.3.1
Installing the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager Client
Install the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager client on a PC as described below. Refer to the "NEC
Storage Manager Installation Guide" for details.
1. Log in to the system as an Administrator.
2. Select [Control Panel] → [Add or Remove Applications] ([Add or Remove Programs] for
Windows XP/Windows Server 2003). Then select the installation program. The installation
program is stored in the location below:
CD-ROM drive:\
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The default installation value is subordinate to the system drive "Program
files\NEC\iSMClient".
4. If the NEC ESMPRO Manager (abbreviated as ESMPRO/SM hereafter) has already been
installed prior to the installation of the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager client, the message
box [ESMPRO setting] appears.
To add [Storage Manager Client Start] in the tool menu of the EMSPRO/SM operation
window, click the [Yes] button. Click [No] if you do not wish to do so.
