Power off your computer
Do not shut down using the standby or hibernation function.

Connect the external display to your computer

Turn on the external display, then turn on your computer
NOTE
It is possible to change the setting to display only on the external
display or only on the internal LCD with Fn + F3 .

Select your external display
Windows 2000
Set your exter nal display for [Monitor] in [Control Panel] - [Display] -
[Settings] - [Advanced].
When a monitor that does not conform to the Plug & Play standards is
connected, select [Monitor] - [Properties] - [Driver] - [Update Driver] and
make the monitor settings.
Windows XP
Set your external display for [Monitor] in [Control Panel] - [Appearance
and Themes] - [Display] - [Settings] - [Advanced].
When a monitor that does not conform to the Plug & Play standards is
connected, select [Monitor] - [Properties] - [Driver] - [Update Driver] and
make the monitor settings.
NOTE
For more detailed information, refer to the operation manual of the
external display.
Set number of colors, resolution, or refresh rate correctly to suit the
monitor.
When the display destination of the screen is switched using Fn +
F3 after the [Command Prompt] screen is set to "Full Screen", the
display destination returns to the destination before switching if an "EXIT"
is input and the [Command Prompt] screen is closed. This can also
happen if the "Full Screen" is canceled via an Alt + Enter com-
mand. Press Fn + F3 again.
With DualView, you can use both the internal LCD and the external display as an ex-
tended display domain. You can also drag a window from the internal LCD to the exter-
nal display. To use DualView;

Select [Settings] in [Control Panel] - [Appearance and Themes] - [Display].

Select display [2] and add a check mark for [Extend my Windows desktop onto this
monitor], then select [Apply].
If a checkmark is already displayed, remove the checkmark once, and then turn the
checkmark back on.

Make the settings for each display (screen area, colors, etc.).
