Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position.

Before storage
Important: Refer to your engine operator's manual for additional maintenance procedures.
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the wire from the spark plug before you do any
maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not accidentally contact the spark plug.
Maintenance Procedure
• Change the engine oil.
• Check the safety interlock system.
• Clean the air intake screen.
• Check the engine oil level.
• Check the cutting blades.
• Clean the mower housing.
• Grease all lubrication points.
• Service the foam air cleaner. (more often in dusty, dirty conditions)
• Check tire pressure.
• Check the belts for wear/cracks.
• Service the paper air cleaner. (more often in dusty, dirty conditions)
• Change the engine oil. (more often in dusty, dirty conditions)
• Check the spark plug(s).
• Replace the fuel filter.
• Replace the paper air cleaner. (more often in dusty, dirty conditions)
• Change the oil filter. (more often in dusty, dirty conditions)
• Clean the engine shrouds and cooling fins (more often in dusty, dirty conditions).
• Charge the battery and disconnect battery cables.
• Perform all maintenance procedures listed above before storage.
• Paint any chipped surfaces.
