Taking a Still picture

Set the drive mode dial to [

Select the Recording Mode. (P19)

Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
A Aperture value

Aperture value and shutter speed are displayed.
(It will flash in red if the correct exposure is not
achieved, except when set to flash.)

Press the shutter button fully (push it in further), and take the
picture.

Recording Motion Picture

This camera can record full high definition motion pictures compatible with the AVCHD format
or motion pictures recorded in MP4.
You can operate the zoom even when recording motion pictures.
If the Extra Optical Zoom is used before pressing the motion picture button, those settings will be
cleared, so the shooting range will change dramatically.
Confirm the settings for the O.I.S. switch and the manual ring selector switch before recording a
motion picture. Be careful not to accidentally switch them during recording.
Still picture recording is also possible during the motion picture recording by fully pressing the shutter button.

Start recording by pressing the motion picture button.
Release the motion picture button right after you press it.
The operational sound of the zoom or button operation may
be recorded when it is operated during the recording of a
motion picture.

Stop the recording by pressing the motion
picture button again.
